Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Sheryl. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you're beginning to plan a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Visiting the theme parks with your precious granddaughter will be a pixie-dusted adventure.
You ask an excellent question. I'm pleased to tell you that
little ones under the age of 3 are special Guests of Mickey Mouse, and do not require admission into the theme parks for the entirety of your stay. If your granddaughter is 2-years old the day you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort, she'll be considered to be under the age of 3 for the entirety of your stay, even if she celebrates a birthday mid-visit. Isn't that great? My husband and I purposely planned a Walt Disney World Resort vacation the week of my son's third birthday. Since he was still 2-years old when we arrived, we didn't need to purchase theme park tickets for him
and he was able to celebrate his birthday at "The Most Magical Place on Earth!" What could be better than that?
As you're planning your family's Disney vacation, be sure to include a
Character Dining Experience. These unique meals are super great because your family can enjoy delicious food and the delightful company of beloved Disney characters, all in one place! A Character Dining Experience will be a must-do for your granddaughter's special birthday. We booked a Character Dining Experience for my little guy when he turned 3-years old, and it made for lots of precious memories!
I hope this was helpful, Sheryl. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
