Jose Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

We plan to visit Disney next March, but we're no staying inside WDW. Can I use the magic bands that we kept when we were there 2 years ago? I my account they appear "Active". Do I have to do any further configuration or I'm OK to go?

Hi Jose! The Disney Magic Bands are available to Walt Disney World resort guests and Annual Pass holders. Magic Bands can be purchased by other guests at several locations on property, Disney Springs, and the Disney Store.

If you are not staying on property you can use the Magic Bands for the FastPass+ options but you will want to make sure your band is linked to your My Disney Experience account as well as your valid park ticket. The Magic Bands use a battery system and from day one they felt these batteries would last at least two years. Your bands should work but understand they are on the edge of battery life. If you run into issues during your stay you might have to purchase a new one but I feel your bands will still be fine. It is worth trying at least.

Make sure your band is listed as "active" in your My Disney Experience account and if not click to activate it again. Off site guests can make your FastPass reservations up to 30 days in advance while resort guests can begin at 60 days so be sure and be ready to select your attractions before times are completely gone for your stay.
