Hiya, Pal! Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Your visit will be here before you know it - you must be so excited!
I know when we have hopes of experiencing attractions, rides, and entertainment at
The Happiest Place on Earth it can be really hard when things don't go the way we hope they will. So while I am no Madame Leota and cannot predict weather conditions a few days from now, please know that if the
Disneyland fireworks don't go off as scheduled it's for the safety of Guests and the neighborhoods that surround the resort. Unlike
Walt Disney World in Florida which has a vast amount of land around the theme parks, Disneyland Park sits in the middle of a residential area and even the slightest wind can cause a safety concern preventing the fireworks.
If you have any flexibility in your visit dates, you might choose to wait until the night before your scheduled visit to check weather conditions and decide whether or not to visit. Most tickets (and Magic Keys) can modify their
theme park reservation date up until 11:59 PM the night before the reservation.
However, if the 16th is the only day you can visit, here are some of my favorite things to do at night in the theme parks. The first is to stroll through
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. The land looks incredibly different at night and is worth traveling to a galaxy far, far away for! Grab a drink at Oga's and then take photos in front of the Millennium Falcon.
On your way into Galaxy's Edge, you can stop for a nighttime ride on
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The mountain looks majestic at night and, while this rollercoaster might be my favorite ride at Disneyland, the experience is elevated at night.
In
Disney California Adventure Park, drop in at
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! The view from the top is fantastic and I always leave smiling and humming a song from Peter Quill's playlist. Also throughout Avengers Campus, there are almost always Avengers roaming throughout the day.
Sending pixie dust that the wind stays away and you can enjoy the fireworks in a few days. Thanks for stopping by!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
