I plan to visit California Adventure Park on August 22. I have already booked a dessert party, but the event schedule states that there will be no show on the day. Even if I wait, won't the event be revived? Should I cancel my reservation?

    Hi Yuki,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! You're ahead of the game with planning for your dessert party. I have heard good things about the Better Together parade Dessert Party as well as the World of Color Dessert Party.

Unfortunately, I recommend canceling the dessert party you booked. August 22 marks the start of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, and historically, there have been no World of Color shows or daytime parades at California Adventure during this time. I know that might be an Oogie Boogie bummer, but I have some alternative ideas that might still bring the magic!

If your park dates are flexible, Oogie Boogie Bash will take place at California Adventure on August 21, and tickets are still available for that date. During this event, you can catch the Frightfully Fun Parade, which is only presented during the Oogie Boogie Bash, and there's even a Dessert Party available! Reservations are still open for both the 7:00 PM and 9:15 PM parade times.

Alternatively, if you have a Disneyland day planned, consider one of the dining packages:

    * Plaza Inn Dining Package for the Paint the Night Parade
    * Dining Package at Docking Bay 7 for Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga projections and the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks display.

These can be fantastic substitutes for the California Adventure dessert party and offer their own special viewing perks.

I hope this helps with your planning, Yuki! If you have more questions or need extra tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your vacation.

Hope you have a tasty trip!
