Hiya, Valerie! Welcome back to planDisney! It’s been a while since we’ve seen you around here, and we’re so “fairy” excited you came back to visit us! Your visit to Disney California Adventure is tomorrow—I’ll bet you’re so thrilled that it’s almost here!
As a fellow California resident, I’m also keeping an eye on those rain clouds gathering on the horizon. But don't worry, a little sprinkle of pixie dust can make even the dreariest day sparkle! After spending many a rainy day at the Disneyland Resort, my personal mantra still holds true: A rainy day at Disneyland is still as magical as can be! (All this weather talk has “Little April Shower” from Bambi playing on repeat in my head!).
Now, about that parade, Valerie... While I wish I could wave a magic wand and guarantee the show will go on, Mother Nature sometimes has other plans. The Disneyland Resort always prioritizes the safety and comfort of both Guests and Cast Members—it's all part of the magic! This means that entertainment and parades, such as
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, may be canceled due to inclement weather. And, just like a plot twist in a Disney film, that decision might not be made until very close to the parade's scheduled start time, depending on how the weather is behaving. It's all about keeping everyone safe and sound! If you have any questions during your visit, or want to check on the latest parade status, you can always pop into the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park. The friendly Cast Members there will be ready to assist with any questions or concerns!
Aside from entertainment, there are a few other
attractions that may be affected by the rainy weather. Some of the outdoor favorites may take a quick break to let the storm pass. But don’t you worry, Valerie! There are lots of indoor attractions and experiences to enjoy! One of my absolute favorites is the
Animation Academy. I’ll admit—I only recently discovered this when I was at California Adventure with my family that was visiting from out of town. My nieces were excited when they checked the daily schedule board and noticed that next up on the list of character sketches was Remy from Ratatouille! We spent 20 minutes enjoying a break from the hot summer sun to draw the beloved Pixar pal. And although it’s safe to say that I’ll leave the drawing to the talented Disney and Pixar animation pros, we still had the best time!
I know that you’re especially looking forward to the
Lunar New Year festivities at Disney California Adventure Park, Valerie. There are so many sights, sounds, and eats to experience while you’re here! The Lunar New Year Marketplaces are favorites of mine because they offer tasty foods and drinks that are only available for a limited time during the event. The Lunar New Year Celebration ends February 16th, so you’re coming just in time to enjoy all that it has to offer!
I hope we've managed to turn that “sad face” into a smile as bright as the fireworks over Sleeping Beauty Castle, Valerie! Remember, even a little rain can't dampen the Disney magic, especially during such a vibrant celebration. May your visit be filled with good fortune, joyous moments, and a Lunar New Year filled with prosperity! If you have any questions as you plan for your next magical visit, feel free to stop by planDisney any time—we’ll be delighted to help!
