Plan to visit AK on 9/20. Then travel to HS for dinner and Fantasmic. What time do you recommend leaving AK and should we drive (car will be at AK) to HS or take a bus? We have been told to be in line for Fantasmic by 6:45.

    Hi Deborah,

In general, many guest wishing to see Fantasmic! line up sometimes 90 minutes before showtime.  The theater is quite large, and September is normally a month with lower crowd levels (although a lot of people are taking advantage of FREE dining, so that will increase the numbers).  It would be a good idea for you to plan on being at Hollywood Studios by 6:30 for the 8:00 show.  If the line doesn't seem particularly long at this point and you don't feel the need to sit in the front row, then you can shop or take in an attraction before hopping in line.

As far transportation, I recommend driving.  The Animal Kingdom closes fairly early, around 5:00 pm.  If you took the buses, you would have a difficult time returning to your car once Fantasmic! ended.  Plus, there is no direct park to park transportation.  You travel from one park to a resort and then transfer to another bus.  Driving will be the easiest and fastest way for you to get to Hollywood Studios.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
