Hi! I would like to plan a vaction for my family during the holidays of 2011. How do I start and should I just go to the travel agent. And when should I book the trip.

    Hi Tamara,

You must be so excited to be planning your family's first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!  Booking your vacation online is quite simple and straight-forward.  Just go here and type in the days you plan to travel.  Currently, you can book vacations online for travel dates through December 31, 2011 so you can book your holiday season 2011 vacation now.  To research all the great hotels from which you can choose click here.  There's a Disney resort for every budget.

After you book your vacation, plan to make your dining reservations 180 days in advance of your check-in date. Just call (407) WDW-DINE.  This will increase the chances that you will be able to dine at the restaurants that most intrigue you.  There are so many great choices!  Also, I would recommend that you check the Disney special offers page periodically to see if any new promotions are available for your travel dates.

If you know of a Disney authorized travel agent, it might be worth having a conversation with them about your trip.  Sometimes agents will offer incentives to book through them.  For instance, in my area right now, AAA is offering a $100 gift card for Disney trips booked by the end of the month.

Good luck planning a magical vacation for your family.  If you have any additional questions moving forward, don't hesitate to post them to the Moms Panel.  We'd love to help!
