I want to plan a vacation for 5 people, 2 adults and 3 children. One of the children is under 2 years old. The WDW vacation package deals are for families of 4. Do I have to pay for the toddler and can I still get one of the vacation packages for 4?

All children under age 3 are free!

When vacation packages for Walt Disney World are advertised, typically rates for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children over age 3) are noted to give families an example of pricing.

Whether you have a family of three (like mine) or a family of more than five, you'll still get the package discount but the price will differ according to the number of guests and their ages. As I mentioned above, children under 3 are free. Kids 3-9 are charged a lower price for tickets than guests 10 and over. So, your final price will depend on the number and ages of the people in your party. It will also depend on the season that you are traveling (value is less expensive than peak) and other factors such as whether or not you add on the water park ticket option.

Let's walk through this together. As Winnie the Pooh says "it's so much friendlier with two"!

    1. Go to www.disneyworld.com
    2. Scroll over Tickets and Packages, then click on Special Offers
    3. Click on the offer that best suits your family. Watch vacation dates!
    4. Click "Check Availability Now".
    5. Add vacation dates that fall within the offer.
    6. Add the number in your party. 2 adults, 2 children.
    7. Enter the ages of the children. (This is where the toddler will end up being free!)
    8. Click "search now".
    9. Review the specifics of the offer.
    10. You can customize your options. Add or subtract number of ticket days, etc.
    11. Then, click "select this offer".
    12. Review the offer. No obligation to purchase!

So, your package will actually be for three "paying" guests although you are a party of four.

Best wishes for a fantastic vacation with a discounted package!
