Hiya Jim
I am so glad you stopped by planDisney. Planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation can seem overwhelming at times. The good news is there are so many amazing options and wonderful things to see and do that no matter what you choose, your time together will be magical.
It sounds like you have crossed off one of the very first tasks, when to go. The next step is to create a
My Disney Experience account which will help you plan your trip as well as keep all of your planning tools and information in one handy location. After completing your profile and friends & family list, you will want to set a vacation budget. This is a great tool to help you decide which
Disney Resorts Collection hotel to select. The resorts are separated into categories based on a number of factors like cost, room size, and amenities. The
value resorts will have slightly smaller room sizes and may not offer as many amenity options but is a great choice if you expect to spend minimal time at your resort or wish to save on hotel costs & use your budget for other expenses like dining choices. If you are looking for a little more room and additional amenity options, then a
moderate resort is for you. And, if cost is not a concern, I definitely recommend a
deluxe resort option. The rooms are spacious and the resorts are in prime locations with amazing amenities. Our favorite is
Disney's Beach Club Resort. We love everything this resort offers & has the best swimming pool at Disney World.
By choosing a resort, you will be able to check availability & then add your preferred
theme park ticket option to your vacation. From here you will be able to view the cost of the package based on the dates of your arrival, the number of nights you are staying, your resort choice and ticket options. Once you have confirmed your selections, you will be able to make
theme park reservations for your stay. While you do not need to make these choices immediately, it is important to remember that a theme park reservation is required for entry and there is no guarantee on how long a particular
theme park will have availability.
Be sure to mark your calendar when your 60 day window opens in order to make your advance dining reservations. Some of the most popular locations fill quickly and you do not want to miss out. Lastly, be sure to check for any
Enchanting Extras you want to add to your family adventure and know when advanced reservations open for those as well. One of our favorites is
Capture your Moment at Magic Kingdom. It is the perfect way to grab some amazing photos of your trip!
