I would like to plan a vacation for March 2024 for me alone. I'm an highly functioning autistic adult. I don t like to do big roller coaster. I need to plan a head everything in order to not get overwhelmed. How can I do that. I live north of Montreal.

    Hi, Christine!  Welcome to planDisney!

When it comes to my own Walt Disney World Resort vacations, I also like to plan ahead.  If I can work out all the logistics before I leave home, then once I arrive at my destination, I can simply focus on having fun and making memories.  When I visit Walt Disney World Resort with my family, having our vacation itinerary figured out ahead of time is a must.  It's extremely helpful for my teenage son who is on the autism spectrum to know what to expect when traveling, so I can certainly understand your need to plan ahead for your trip.

Guests will be able to begin booking their 2024 vacation packages on May 31, 2023.  In the meantime, I recommend deciding which Disney Resorts Collection hotel you'd like to call your home away from home.  Under Panel Extras on the planDisney website, you'll find our Disney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides.  These are great resources when deciding which resort hotel is right for you.

Once you know where you'll be staying on your vacation, you can decide what you'd like to see and do during your visit.  I recommend looking through the list of attractions and entertainment options on the Walt Disney World website to create your list of must-dos.  The theme parks have a wide variety of attractions, so if you're not into thrill rides, no worries.  There really is something to appeal to every Guest.  The Walt Disney World website gives a great description of each attraction, but if you'd prefer to know exactly what to expect (and you're not worried about spoilers), you can search for the attractions on YouTube.  Guests often post point-of-view videos of Walt Disney World attractions that you might find useful.

As you prepare for your trip, I would also recommend exploring Walt Disney World Resort's dining options.  You can view each dining location's menu on the Walt Disney World website to help you decide where you might like to eat.  Dining reservations are highly recommended for table service restaurants and can be made 60 days in advance.

During your planning process, be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog to catch all of the latest news and announcements.  Just yesterday, the Disney Parks Blog shared some exciting updates that will be making visits easier.  These updates, such as the return of Disney dining plans and the removal of park reservation requirements for date-based tickets, will be going into effect on January 9, 2024.  I would also suggest that you become familiar with Walt Disney World Resort's services for Guests with disabilities to see if any of the accommodations that are offered would be helpful for you.

Christine, if you have additional questions as you plan your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask.  I would be happy to help with anything from resort or restaurant recommendations to suggestions for relaxing places to take a break if you're feeling overwhelmed.  Wishing you the most magical vacation ever!
