Ahoy again, Michael! Thanks for cruising to us again at planDisney with more questions. We hope to help you plan the best Disney Cruise ever!
Castaway Cay is such a special place, and I'm counting down the days till I can once again put my toes in the sand on Disney's Private island. It sounds like you are trying to make the most of your day in this tropical paradise, and I would love to help.
I recommend that you start by reviewing the map on the Disney Cruise Line
website page that highlights Castaway Cay. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the map, then choose "Recreation" to see the key points of interest on the map. If you take a look at the Snorkeling Lagoon, you will notice that it isn't far from Pelican Plunge, but it is not immediately next to it. To access the Snorkeling Lagoon, head toward the end of the first beach area you see. If you make it to the Heads Up Bar, you have gone too far. Just on the other side of Head's Up Bar is Pelican Plunge. You can float in a tube in the first beach area you come across or near Pelican Plunge, but there are ropes to indicate the space intended just for swimmers heading to Pelican Plunge.
The good news is, nothing is terribly far apart in the Castaway Family Beach area. If it were me, I would start my day with snorkeling and then move over to the beach area near Pelican Plunge to float and swim. Once you get a lay of the land, you can decide where you might enjoy relaxing in your tube the most. When it's time for lunch, you won't be far from Cookies Too BBQ for your delicious meal on the island.
It's easy to lose track of time while you are relaxing, so make sure to reapply your sunscreen at regular intervals. I also encourage you to take the tram over to the adults-only beach, Serenity Bay. Find a hammock and enjoy the tranquil sound of the ocean. There is also a spot for lunch on Serenity Bay called Serenity Bay BBQ. However you spend your day on
Castaway Cay, I hope it is filled with sunshine, relaxation, and loads of happiness.
Have a lovely holiday,
Adrianna
