Greetings Kate!
What a practically perfect way to celebrate your little prince's first birthday! I'm thrilled to hear about your magical visit and even more excited to help you begin planning his special day!
Wonderful resources can be found on the
Planning with Pre-School Kids & Little Ones page of the Walt Disney World Resort website. From sample itineraries, to age appropriate rides and attractions to even information about the Baby Care Centers (see the video), the site is full of great information! At that age my kiddos loved Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, "it's a small world" and many other rides and attractions including parades and shows in all of the parks.
They were also a little apprehensive at meeting their favorite Disney pals, so we found
Character Dining was a great way to ease them into it. This way they had a little more time to feel comfortable with meeting characters. You can even request a special "Celebrate Today" cake!
Other fun activities you may want to look into are a First Haircut at the
Harmony Barber Shop and because you will be visiting in December,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I'd love to help you plan more for your son's special day, so if there is anything else we can do, please ask!
Happy Planning,
Lauren
