Hey Howdy Hey Isabella and welcome to planDisney!
I am so excited to hear you are planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth really soon! Thank you for dropping by with your questions about the details of purchasing your Theme Park Tickets. I will be happy to give you more information on how to get this done.
Theme Park Tickets are best purchased online before you are onsite at the parks. You can do this from the Walt Disney World website and is super easy to do. The big things you would need to know is when you plan on visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. Ticket prices are date-based meaning that the prices will vary depending on when you plan to visit. Once you are online, you will select the ticket you want to shop for, the date you want your tickets to be valid for and any options such as the Park Hopper Option if you want to go to more than one park per day. Theme Park Reservations are no longer required for entry to the parks with date-based tickets, so you don't have to select which parks you will be visiting, you can just show up based on how your plans change!
Once you have your tickets purchased, they will be linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can
access them with a MagicBand+, MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile Service or you can visit a ticket window once you arrive for a Magic Key Card. The
MagicMobile is the easiest to set up and will save you time as you can do this from home and your smartphone can be your entry to the parks.
Two things you want to be aware of for your visit are access to attractions. Disney will currently be changing the current Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane options to
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. This change will happen after July 24 and may impact your dates of travel. With the update, you will be able to plan ahead for your visit to the parks and the rides you want to experience. Guests staying onsite with Disney Resorts Collection will have 7 days before their date of arrival to make the purchase and selections and all other Guests will have 3 days.
The last thing is
Virtual Queues. Disney manages some of the more popular attractions with Virtual Queues and does not offer stand-by-line options. Attractions such as
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are managed in such a way. I would recommend you get familiar with the Virtual Queue and Lightning Lane options so you can better plan your Magical day!
If you have any other questions feel free to let us know, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
