Hi there Philip, and welcome to
planDisney!
There are several advantages to booking your Walt Disney World vacation well in advance. Most importantly, it gives you more time to get excited about the trip! Understandably, even the best-laid plans don't always come to fruition as life and schedules sometimes change. Fortunately, most vacation packages offer flexible
cancelation policies, and I'd be happy to explain the process.
If you anticipate needing to make changes to your vacation, I recommend
booking a package that bundles your theme park tickets and hotel stay. This way, the entire package is refundable without a fee as long as you cancel or modify it at least 30 days before check-in.
If you book a
room-only reservation and purchase theme park tickets separately, the hotel portion of your booking can be canceled without penalty as late as five days before check-in, but Disney theme park tickets that are not part of vacation packages are non-refundable. If you go this route but end up needing to cancel, all is not lost.
Walt Disney World theme park tickets never lose their original value, and you can always apply the amount paid to the purchase of future tickets.
I hope this makes sense, Philip, and that you have a wonderful spring vacation! May is one of my favorite months to visit; the spring break crowds have gone home, and the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is usually in full bloom. If there's anything we can do for you as your trip comes together, don't hesitate to reach out again. We're all ears, and we love to help!
Happy holidays,
Betsy
