How can I plan a trip to Disney World for a wheelchair user including a shuttle from the hotel and acessible rooms?

Hi there, Kayla! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out and allowing us to help you plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort later this year!

I am so excited to help you out with planning a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort with accessibility in mind! As a part-time wheelchair user myself, I have a lot of firsthand knowledge that comes from navigating my own visits with mobility equipment!

When staying with the Disney Resorts Collection, you can rest assured knowing that accessibility will be a priority throughout your stay! Whenever you go to book your accommodations, you can specifically choose an accessible room based on your individual needs. This can be done online by selecting the “Accessible Rooms” checkbox to view available rooms that meet or over the phone by calling (407) 939-1936. Here, a helpful Cast Member will help you identify the best room for your party and assist with the booking process. Personally, I prefer speaking with a Cast Member over the phone since there are multiple categories of accessible rooms at Disney Resort hotels and this tends to be the best way to identify which one will best suit your needs.

I am also happy to report that the majority of Disney Transportation modes are completely accessible! This includes Bus Transportation, Monorail Transportation, the Disney Skyliner, and select modes of Water Transportation. The only type of transportation I have ever encountered problems with is ferryboat transportation at select Disney Resort hotels. The smaller boats are not accessible when traveling with either wheelchairs or ECVs. However, I always recommend speaking with a Cast Member for any accommodations you may find yourself needing throughout your vacation!

I hope this information assists you in planning a practically perfect trip to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can provide any other planning support as well!
