Hello Comelia, and welcome to planDisney! Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is incredibly exciting, but I understand it can feel overwhelming at times. Don't worry, I'm here to share some helpful starting points that will guide you toward a truly magical experience!
When planning, I like to start by choosing my dates. I always consider school holidays, since they can lead to larger crowds. If you have flexibility in May, you can often beat the summer rush. If not, don't let that deter you, as there are plenty of ways to make the most of busy theme park days. One of my favorite strategies is "rope-dropping", which lets you experience the most popular attractions early in the day before the parks get crowded.
I see that cost is important to you, and I couldn't agree more. Experiencing the magic while getting great value is one of my favorite things! One of the best ways to save is by choosing where you stay. Disney's Value Resorts let you enjoy the "Disney bubble" without breaking the bank. Staying on property also unlocks
fantastic perks, including Early Entry, which gives Disney Resort hotel guests access to all theme parks 30 minutes early every day.
Another perk of staying on-site is the fantastic transportation. For me, nothing says "vacation" like parking my car and letting Disney handle the rest! I absolutely love Disney's transportation, especially the Disney Skyliner. If you stay at Disney's Pop Century Resort, you'll have direct access to the Skyliner, but don't forget the complimentary bus service is just as convenient. These reliable options make getting around feel almost like your very own magic carpet ride! Staying on Disney property also means you can take advantage of the Disney Dining Plans. There are two options: The Disney Dining Plan and the Quick-Service Dining Plan. These can give your trip that all-inclusive feel, so be sure to look into them.
Disney regularly offers great specials that I love to take advantage of myself. Be sure to check the
Special Offers, Packages & More page to find the best prices available for your trip. These offers can change frequently, so it's worth checking back often to make sure you're getting the best deal.
I also love planning my visit around when Disney's EPCOT may be hosting a festival, and you're in luck!
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be in full swing during your visit. Be sure to make time for the many unique offerings.
Disney's Magic Kingdom offers unforgettable experiences, such as Cinderella's Royal Table and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Both require reservations, and if you're staying on-site, you can book them starting at 6 AM EST, 60 days before your check-in day. I highly recommend booking as early as possible, as these experiences are very popular and fill up quickly! If you aren't staying on property, you can book at 6 AM EST, 60 days before each specific park day.
Ticket prices vary depending on the dates and type of ticket you choose, as well as how many days you'd like to visit. Multi-day tickets offer a lower daily rate, but options like the Park Hopper add-on can affect the price. I recommend visiting the
Theme Park Ticket Page on the Walt Disney World website for the most accurate pricing for your party. I would also like to suggest looking into Lightning Lane Passes, as it is a great way to experience as many of your must-do attractions as possible.
Please come back if you have any questions, and I will be more than happy to help you.
Have a magical time!
Michelle
