I want to plan a trip to Disney World for my family and I around Christmas 2020 but I have no idea where to start. HELP!

    Hello, Erica! Welcome to planDisney!

The holidays are an excellent moment to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, so let's get to the planning!

I suggest at least 8 days so that you can enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort to its fullest, with 5 Theme Park days and two rest days to enjoy your hotel and Disney Springs. Two days at Magic Kingdom Park and one day each at EPCOT, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. How does that sound?

The first step in this journey is to select the perfect Disney Resort hotel for your trip. It can be a beautiful Value Hotel such as Disney's Art of Animation Resort, or a Moderate Resort such as Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (the Tower rooms are my favorites). You can also choose a luxurious option such as Disney's Yacht Club Resort!

Then, you will purchase your tickets. At this point, it's wise to call the Walt Disney World Resort to check on special offers and packages combining tickets and hotel rooms. After securing your room and tickets, it's time to make your Theme Park reservations using the Disney Park Pass system. This platform will allow you to reserve entrance to the Theme Park of your choice for each day, and these reservations are a very time-sensitive step in your plan. I suggest getting to them as soon as possible!

Finally, it's time for the yummiest part of the trip: your dining strategy! The Walt Disney World Resort has four types of dining locations: small kiosks and stands, Quick-Service locations that are perfect for fast meals, Table Service restaurants for longer meals, and Signature Dining restaurants for refined, unique experiences. It's wise to balance them all to craft the perfect plan, so I encourage you to browse some menus and choose the ones that suit your family.

Then, 60 days ahead of your trip, it will be time to make your dining reservations for Table Service and Signature Dining restaurants. As a Guest of a Disney Resort hotel, you will be able to make all your dining reservations 60 days before your arrival, and that's a massive advantage during the holidays, so make sure to use it. This time frame may change, so it's wise to check again before it's time to make the reservations.

I hope that these tips help you create a fantastic trip for December, Erica. As more questions pop up, please come back. We will be thrilled to help!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
