I want to plan a trip to Disney World for my family. Can anyone tell the best way to start and steps in doing so please?

Hello Janita!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Mom´s Panel.

The first step is to plan a trip around your family´s personal taste.  Only you know your family´s particularities and preferences.

Determine if dates are flexible or specific.
If flexible, you can look for value and regular season dates where you will be able to experience low crowds and lower prices for Disney resorts and services.  Some of my favorite dates are September, October, December (first two weeks), January (first two weeks) and May.
Try booking rooms up to one year in advance to guarantee your favorite resort and room and dining reservations up to 180 days in advance.

There are plenty of options - attractions, restaurants, resorts - to choose from, so the next step is to spend some time on Walt Disney World website.  Get familiar with the resorts and the different services and locations each features; with restaurants to know which culinary experience is more to your taste, and with parks, attractions, shows and special events.

Regarding Disney parks, Magic Kingdom is the main attraction.  My family spends two or three days at Magic Kingdom while only one at the other theme parks during a single vacation.
If interested on visiting Disney´s Water Parks you should consider adding the Water Park Fun & More Option.
Guest can also visit one or all four theme parks on the same day with the Park Hopper Options.

Do not expect to see everything or almost everything on your first trip.  This approach might stress you out.

The more you get to know about all activities and resorts the better you will be to plan a relaxed and magical vacation for your family.

Happy to help you plan a magical Disney vacation.
Hope to hear more from you.
