We want to plan a trip to Disney World but we don't know what age would be good to take our daughter. She will be 2 in February. Do you have any advice on a beginning age for Disney World?

    Sarah,

You are going to find a lot of opinions on this question. There are plenty of parents who have brought their children to Walt Disney World as newborns, and starting at just about any age up from there. None of them are wrong. As you can imagine, it is all about what you want out of the vacation, and what your child is like.

Just remember the impact a very young child will have on your trip. Children who need naps mean a break in the day. But waiting until they are of an age where Mickey and Minnie might not top their list of favorite characters means missing out an iconic and special moment in any child's life.

I have always said the ideal are is between 3 and 4. The more "mature" a child is, the earlier in that 1-year range that I would take them. But to visit with a 2-year old is really great too. They may not remember everything from their trip, but they will absolutely adore the time!  If you think you as a family are ready now to go, then do it!

    Send me any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
