We would like to plan another trip to Disney in 2009. We can't decide which time would be best... Week of Thanksgiving or the week of Christmas. Any difference in crowds? We will be taking our two boys, 15 and 9. Thanks! Kim

Hi Kim!  How lucky you are to be planning another trip back to Walt Disney World.   For years my family chose the week of Thanksgiving for their reunions.  It is a busy time but not quite as busy as Christmas.  We would arrive as soon as we could the weekend before and do as much in the parks hitting all the popular rides and attractions those early days of the week.  As it got closer to the actual day of Thanksgiving we could see the crowds getting larger and lines longer.  That was the time we would opt to take advantage of the Disney recreation such as the boat rentals, fishing excursions, or tours, shopping, and just enjoying the resorts.
The added bonus for that week is seeing the start of the holiday season spring up all around the property. You will need to put in a little extra time planning your itinerary to best utilize the parks during a busy time and also make sure you have your dining reservations in place especially for Thanksgiving dinner. Call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) to ask about which restaurants will be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal if that is important to your family.
When Thanksgiving comes along every year I always have the memories of Walt Disney World!
