Hey Danielle,
Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you're here. As a person who treasures saving a little cash wherever I can, I am happy to help you figure out the most economical way to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Ticket and resort pricing at Walt Disney World tend to trend along with crowd levels. Lower ticket prices on the
Ticket Calendar often signal lower resort hotel rates because of this. The times that you might find lower prices are late August, September (when kids are mostly back to school) and around January after the holidays. Sometimes you can still find deals in February prior to President's Day. Your instinct to look for deals in August was spot on. My additional advice for you is to be sure that you check out the
Special Offers page before booking - here you'll find all the current deals that you can build your trip around so if you have some flexibility you can really save some cash. If saving on dining is more important to you than saving on rooms and tickets, there's also the
free dining plan promotion to consider when you book with a Disney Visa card. You have so many options to save.
One of my favorite budgeting perks about booking a Disney World vacation package is the fact that you can pay a $200 deposit and make incremental payments over time. It's super convenient! Those deals on the Special Offers page will sometimes be for rooms or tickets only and not packages, so keep that in mind as well while you plan.
My last budgeting tip for you is to consider staying at a
Value Resort within the Disney Resorts Collection of hotels. These resorts offer a great value on your stay, but still offer that
Disney magic that we love. My favorites from this category are
Pop Century and
Art of Animation due to their proximity to the
Disney Skyliner.
Danielle, I hope this information was helpful and gets you started with planning! If you need any additional advice for planning your trip
I'm happy to help. See ya real soon!
