we want to plan a trip with 8 adults, 2 kids. are there any resorts that are best for a group like that? Perhaps 4 adults and 2 kids in one room, and 2 additinal rooms for the other 2 couples?

Hi there, Veronica!  It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Pennsylvanian here at planDisney!

Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with a big group means big fun, and I'm happy to tell you that the Disney Resorts Collection offers a wide variety of accommodations to meet your needs.  As you decide which resort hotel to call your home away from home, I recommend taking a look at our planDisney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides.  These are great resources to help you find the perfect place for your family to stay during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

I would recommend considering a Disney Deluxe Villa for your travel party.  A deluxe villa offers multiple rooms with ample storage and sleeping space.  Many also have multiple bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens for your convenience.  There are Grand Villas at several resort hotels that can sleep up to 12 people if you'd like your entire party to stay together.

Many Deluxe Resort Hotels have both villas and standard rooms if you'd like to split your group up as you mentioned in your question.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort could be another option if you're looking to divide your group up in this manner.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort has family suites for up to six Guests, as well as standard rooms.  Please be aware that deluxe villas and family suites are located in different areas of each resort hotel from the standard rooms.  So if you're booking different types of rooms for various members of your party, they will likely be staying in different buildings across the resort hotel's property.

If you'd like your group to stay closer together, booking multiple standard rooms at any Disney Resorts Collection Hotel is certainly another option.  Once your reservations are made, you're welcome to call the Help Center phone number for Disney Resort Hotel Reservations to request that your rooms be near one another.  While room requests can never be guaranteed, the Cast Members will do their best to assign your travel party to rooms in the same area of the resort.

Veronica, if you have any questions about a particular resort hotel or any other aspect of your vacation, please feel free to visit planDisney again at any time.  My fellow panelists and I are all ears!  See ya real soon!
