Welcome to planDisney, Amir. I love it when I get to answer questions from Guests who live in my home state. It's like talking to a neighbor!
One day, I'm going to visit the
Walt Disney World Resort during
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. I'll be preparing, waking up early, and carb-loading with the best of them. After all, cheering on all the runners is hard work. Oh, did you think I would be running? That's an easy mistake. I just naturally enjoy carb-loading at the restaurants around the resort and waking up early to rope-drop the parks. If you see me running, you should be afraid. Very afraid.
Now, if they would only install a pool down Main Street, U.S.A. for a swimming competition, I would be the very first person signed up and ready to go. I'm not a
Walt Disney Imagineer, but that wouldn't be
too hard to install, right? And it's not like it would get in anyone's way, would it? This merman should write a letter!
All kidding aside, I have a lot of respect for runners. It takes a lot of dedication and heart to prepare and run these races. And running a race in the Most Magical Place on Earth just adds an extra layer of pixie dust. I wish you all the best with your race. You're going to rock it!
At this time, 2025 vacation packages to the Walt Disney World Resort are not currently available. They typically go on sale in late spring/early summer of the prior year, so you'll want to follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements so you can be one of the first Guests to pounce on those reservations! The only exception to this would be
Disney Vacation Club members, who can book a room at their home resort 11 months before their arrival date.
While you're waiting, Amir, you can begin to think about where you're going to refuel and, like I mentioned before, carb-load. Will it be heaping piles of pasta at
Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano in
Disney's Hollywood Studios? A delicious protein-filled steak from
Le Cellier Steakhouse in
EPCOT? Or perhaps a
Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich, which is fruit piled high on a waffle at
Sleepy Hollow in
Magic Kingdom Park? Sure, it's smeared with a bunch of Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread too, but nuts have protein as well, right? Clearly, I'm not a nutritionist but I
do know where to find the
good eats around the resort. So if you ever want more recommendations, or have any other questions leading up to your vacation,
feel free to reach out directly to me.
You will go the distance,
Matt
