We plan on traveling to Disney World for my daughter's birthday in one week. This is our first trip. My kids are ages 6 and 2. Do you have any suggestions on planning this trip? We plan on spending two days at the park.

    Hi Alice!

Congratulations on your family's first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! I can't think of a better place to celebrate your little princess' birthday!

First of all, I will recommend staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. If your budget permits it, and if there is still availability, try to book a "monorail resort." These would include Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Given the ages of your children I will suggest visiting Magic Kingdom both days. There is a lot more for them to enjoy there.

To make your daughter's birthday even more magical, I recommend any of the following activities:

    1. Book a Disney Character Dining experience to celebrate her special day
    2. Request a Celebrate Today Cake, available at most restaurants, or order a custom Birthday Cake by calling (407) 827-2253. Please be advised that custom cake orders required at least 48 hours advance notice
    3. Book the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique for a princess makeover. You may reserve this magical transformation by calling (407) WDW-STYLE
    4. Give a Magical Experience by arranging for a Mickey & Pals Big Birthday Wish in-room celebration. Simply contact (407) WDW-GIFT
    5. Order specially customized birthday gifts by calling Disney's Floral & Gifts
