We plan to travel to WDW over Thanksgiving. Where would be the best place to get a traditional Thanksgiving dinner?

Hi there, Kari! Welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you stopped by!

When I think about Thanksgiving and a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, there is one thing they have in common that immediately comes to mind - THE FOOD! Food is the most important part of ANY vacation, if you ask me. But, of course, that goes double when we’re talking about a Thanksgiving vacation! Walt Disney World is FAMOUS for its incredible dining options, and there are so many fabulous options for you to enjoy an amazing Thanksgiving feast. So, let’s get to it!

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World is Liberty Tree Tavern, which serves Thanksgiving food year-round. So if you’re looking for a classic American feel reminiscent of the taverns enjoyed by our Founding Fathers, then Liberty Tree Tavern is the place for you! You’ll feel like you’ve hopped into a time machine as you enjoy your Patriot’s Platter in one of the six dining rooms inspired by important figures in U.S. History. Sounds pretty perfect for Thanksgiving, right, Kari?

Now, Liberty Tree Tavern is probably the most popular restaurant for Thanksgiving day, so it can be tricky to snag an Advanced Dining Reservation. So, a fantastic alternative is The Diamond Horseshoe, which serves the exact same “All-you-care-to-enjoy” feast as Liberty Tree Tavern, but with a different ambiance. Be sure you leave room for dessert because the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake is not to be missed!

Another delicious option can be found over in EPCOT at Garden Grill Restaurant. Have you ever been to a revolving restaurant, Kari? It’s such a cool experience to rotate around the incredible views of Living with the Land as you chow down on your All-Natural Sliced Turkey Breast and Creamy Mashed Potatoes. Plus, you may even get a visit from Chip, Dale, and some of their closest Disney pals! How cool is that?!

While these are a few of my favorite options, many other restaurants around Walt Disney World will offer a special Thanksgiving menu. So, I recommend keeping a close eye on Disney Parks Blog for updates on special holiday offerings ahead of your visit.

Now, with many Guests looking for that classic Thanksgiving food, it’s essential to make your Advanced Dining Reservations as early as possible to ensure you can enjoy dinner at your preferred restaurant. You can make Advanced Dining Reservations 60 days in advance, starting at 6:00 a.m. In addition, if you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you get the added benefit of being able to book for your entire stay (for up to 10 days) 60 days before your scheduled check-in. So, you get a jump start on securing some of those hard-to-snag reservations at Walt Disney World's most popular restaurants. How great is that?

I do hope I have been able to help you, Kari! If you have any more questions, pop back over to planDisney, where we would love to help make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation as wonderful as possible!
