If I plan on going staying at Port Orleans before and after my Disney cruise. Can I leave my car at the resort?

    Hi Yen!

Welcome back to planDisney, I’m so glad you thought of us for your upcoming land and sea vacation. Combining a special Disney Cruise Line vacation with a pre- and post-cruise stay at the Walt Disney World Resort sounds like an incredible escape! I’m happy to share what’s possible for these travel logistics.

Unfortunately, you won’t be allowed to leave your vehicle at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort while you are not staying there overnight. I understand you’ll be a Guest there before and after the cruise, but parking is limited to current resort Guests. I wouldn't take a chance on being towed or having a penalty imposed by leaving your vehicle unattended for several days.

Since you’ll have your own vehicle, you may consider driving to Port Canaveral. It’s a direct drive to the coast, and there is plenty of parking available at the port to safely secure your vehicle during your cruise. When you return, you’ll have an easy way to return to the Walt Disney World Resort promptly and on your own schedule. It’s about a 60-minute drive to the coast, with easy signage and clear direction for either dropping off a family member with luggage or parking and bringing it with you to check in. There are also many great places on the water for a meal if you arrive early or want to explore Port Canaveral prior to embarking. With your vehicle safely in the garage, you can also plan to leave any items you don’t need for your cruise inside the vehicle to save on space and weight for your cruise bags.

I hope this helps you think through some of the details for your upcoming cruise, Yen. If you’ve already reserved ground transportation to the port through Disney Cruise Line, please give Disney a call to discuss your situation and modify those plans if possible.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort will be such a relaxing way to start and end this vacation! I stayed there this past October and really enjoyed the lush grounds and fun amenities offered. As a Guest of either Riverside or French Quarter, you are welcome to enjoy amenities, dining, and entertainment at both sides of this sprawling resort during your stay.

Please let us know what other questions you have as you finalize this special land and sea adventure.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy
