I plan to stay in the tower at the Polynesian Resort. We will have to transfer rooms after the 1st night. Since we plan to visit the Magic Kingdom early that day, what is the best way to handle the checkout & check in process & handle our bags?

    Aloha Barry,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a question about your upcoming stay at Walt Disney World Resort, I'm happy to assist. The Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is a little piece of tropical paradise, the gardens and views are stunning!

My family just returned home from a Disney World vacation, and we did a split stay where we stayed at different resorts. I'm happy to share that the transition between resorts was seamless and there was no stressing on our part. Like your plan, we were at Magic Kingdom late the night before we switched hotels. We made sure our bags were packed and ready, and the morning of the switch, we stopped by Bell Services with our bags and requested they be transferred over to our next resort. If you have any items you'll need throughout the day such as medication or a swimsuit if you plan on enjoying the resort pool, I highly recommend keeping these items with you in a small bag. Luggage transfers can take a bit of time, so this way, you'll be sure to have the items you need with you.

We opted to complete our check-out online through the My Disney Experience app, but if you prefer, you can swing by the resort's Front Desk for assistance. We used Direct-to-Room Service by using the app to use Online Check-in service and received a notification once our room was ready. You'll be able to see your room number in the app, so you can completely bypass the Front Desk at your new resort if you wish. You can pick up your bags from Bell Services upon arrival, or you can choose to have them delivered to your room once you've arrived.

If you're a fan of Water Parks, be sure to take advantage of the Water Park Benefit for Stays in 2025 at a Disney World Resort. Guests receive complimentary entry to a Disney Water Park on check-in day, so if your second resort is an eligible resort, you can visit on both check-in days! My family did this and we enjoyed sliding down the water slides, jumping waves and floating down the lazy rivers at both Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Parks.

Good news - you don't need to worry about packing a towel for the water parks as currently, all Guests receive complimentary towels to use for the day! Head to the Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach or Singapore Sal's at Typhoon Lagoon to pick up towels for your party.

I hope this information is helpful, Barry. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out - I'm happy to help!

    Have a magical stay,
    Candace
