If we plan to stay at the Disney Hotel in Anaheim, CA, are we able to use the Grand California Hotel’s entrance into Disney’s California Adventure?

Hey there, Toni. Welcome back to planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with this great question. Staying on property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel is always a wonderful choice. There is truly nothing like keeping the magic going from the moment you arrive until the day you head home, all while staying fully immersed in the Disney bubble.

Here is the scoop. Yes, you can absolutely use the Grand Californian entrance into Disney California Adventure when you are staying at Pixar Place Hotel or the Disneyland Hotel, as long as you have valid theme park tickets and a theme park reservation to Disney California Adventure for that day. This works whether you are holding a One Day One Park ticket or a Park Hopper ticket with Disney California Adventure as your starting park. That special entrance is one of those on property perks that feels extra special and makes early mornings feel even more magical. You may be asked to scan or show your hotel keycard to gain access to Grand Californian. Don’t forget to stop and admire the impressive lobby on your way, or stop by Hearthstone Lounge to quench your thirst and feed your hunger!

If you have a Park Hopper ticket but your starting park reservation is Disneyland Park, you will need to enter through the main Esplanade or the Disneyland Monorail entrance first and then wait until park hopping begins at 11 a.m. before heading into California Adventure. Once you are eligible to hop, you can absolutely take advantage of the Grand Californian entrance if you would like.

Now, let's talk about the Disneyland Hotel. I absolutely love the Disneyland Hotel for its timeless nostalgia, classic charm, and iconic decor that makes you feel connected to Disney history the moment you arrive. From the subtle nods to the early days of Disneyland to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, it feels like staying inside a piece of Disney storytelling. Its proximity to Downtown Disney District makes it so easy to pop in and out for dining and shopping, and the Monorail waterslides are pure joy, blending classic Disney fun with resort relaxation. It is a place where the magic never turns off, even when you leave the parks.

Toni, there is always something special going on at Disneyland Resort. Whether you are visiting when there is a Disneyland After Dark event, the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, or a new show opening, all the details can be found in the Disneyland app. I make it part of my pre-park ritual to check hours, attraction closures, and special happenings, so I can make the most out of my visit.

There is also a brand new perk to staying on property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel! You will get one Lightning Lane preloaded to your app to be used at an attraction of your choice! What a great way to start your day, or utilize the Lightning Lane queue in the afternoon!

I hope this helps you plan a stay filled with ease, magic, and those little on property perks that make a Disneyland Resort vacation feel extra special. Wishing you a truly magical visit.

    See ya real soon!
