Hiya Sharon,
Welcome back to planDisney! We are honored to have you as our Guest today and to help you prepare for your upcoming vacation next week. Speaking of which, what a great question! My Prince Charming and I recently ran into the same question. We had plans to rope drop Animal Kingdom, but we wanted to hop over to Magic Kingdom in the afternoon. Since we have two Mouseketeers under four, we knew that we wanted
Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Magic Kingdom for sure, but we weren’t sure what to do about Animal Kingdom.
Here is what I know, Sharon. When you purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you are free to purchase it for any theme park (not just the one you have a park reservation for), so that means you can purchase a Multi Pass for
Hollywood Studios if you want. Now, if you don’t plan to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Animal Kingdom at all, then it is a fantastic idea to purchase a Multi Pass for Hollywood Studios. Just keep in mind that you are not able to book additional Lightning Lane experiences until you redeem your first one. So let’s say you have your first lightning lane experience for
Slinky Dog Dash at 1:30 pm, until you redeem that lightning lane, you would not be able to book anything else (subject to availability).
I hope this was helpful, Sharon. It can be a whole new world with Lightning Lanes and Park Hopping, so I’m glad we were able to chat! Before I let you go, if you are a Guest of one of Walt Disney World Resort's collection hotels and planning on taking advantage of the
Early Theme Park Entry, don’t forget that every Guest in your Party must be on the resort hotel reservation to take advantage of it. As I mentioned, when we park hop, we like to rope drop or use Early Theme Park entry so that we can get a jump start on attractions if we don’t have a Multi Pass, since it really does save us time. I hope that you have a magical trip, and please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
