Hi Loretta!
Oooooh - your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is THIS week!! I returned from my own wonderful Disney trip last week where I also stayed at a Port Orleans hotel, and I'm ready to go back. A first for me, I also brought a refillable water bottle from home so I'm freshly prepped in this subject.
The industrial-size ice machines that are in the same building as your actual hotel room do feature larger ice cubes, so you will have some pieces that make it in to your bottle whereas others will completely miss the mark. I filled a cup from my room with ice, then slowly poured the ice into the bottle so I didn't make a huge mess.
There are two Port Orleans Resort Hotels, Riverside and also French Quarter. They are within walking distance of each other and share pool privileges. Should you visit the beverage station in either Port Orleans Quick Service Restaurant, you'll find smaller ice cubes that will have an easier time going into your bottle. I just measured the mouth of the bottle I used and it has a 2 inch diameter opening. The beverage station at
French Quarter features Coca Cola's Freestyle Machines, where you tap an on-screen display to find the beverage of your choice. Water is available from these machines without the need to verify a sensor chip in your cup like the soda portion requires. The beverage station area at the
Riverside Mill Food Court has it's very own machine dedicated to just water and ice. It's on the side of the line nearest to the cash registers.
Bonus tip: You can also
refill your bottle yourself in the parks at Satu'li Canteen, Restaurantosaurus, Electric Umbrella and Sunshine Seasons.
