How much should I plan on spending for gratuities for a 3 night cruise? Or an amount per day?

Connie, welcome to planDisney! I’m glad you’re here!

My first Disney Cruise was a 3-night sailing. It’s the perfect length of time to “test the waters.” I have to tell you, though; you might come home dreaming about more nights on board. The attention to detail and the personalized service you receive with Disney Cruise Line will surely capture your heart.

Currently, the recommended gratuity is $14.50 per night, per stateroom Guest, including infants and children. The recommended amount for Guests staying in Concierge Staterooms and Suites is $15.50 per night. You can easily pre-pay your gratuities online before you set sail for an all-inclusive experience. Visit My Reservations and follow the prompts for Pre-Paid Gratuities. If you booked your Disney Cruise with a travel agent, please get in touch with them to apply this payment for you. You can also wait until you’re on the ship, and your onboard account will automatically be charged the suggested amount.

Toward the end of your cruise, you will receive a piece of paper with envelopes outlining the tips for your dining room server, assistant server, head server, and stateroom host. You can choose to add additional cash to the envelopes for exceptional service. Handing these envelopes to the Crew Members at your last dinner or departure breakfast is a Disney Cruise Line tradition. Don’t worry if you forget; they will still receive their gratuities.

If you have a spa appointment planned or wish to enjoy a cocktail or two, an 18% gratuity is automatically added for these services. These charges will appear on your onboard account. Connie, tipping is always at your discretion. You can visit Guest Services at any time to discuss the automatic gratuities.

I know you’re going to have the best time ever! If you think you might want to take another Disney Cruise, I always recommend taking advantage of the special onboard-only booking offer. This Placeholder Reservation is an open-ended reservation that gives you 24 months to select your next cruise. Plus, you’ll receive a 10% discount on your next sailing! You'll find all the details on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you're on the ship. Keep in mind that all prices and booking discounts mentioned are subject to change.

As your plans start to take shape, feel free to reach out to planDisney if you have any other questions. We love to share our best tips with Guests like you!
