We plan to spend the day at Epcot. We have reservations for Mickey's Backyard BBQ at 5:30pm. When should we leave Epcot to make it on time to the BBQ? Can we take the Monorail to The parking lot near the Polynesian Resort, then take a bus to the BBQ?

    Hi there, Michael!

I like the way you plan!  A day at Epcot Theme Park followed by Mickey's Backyard BBQ sounds just perfect to me.  As you may know, the BBQ hoedown takes place at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.  From Epcot, you can hop a direct bus to Fort WIlderness.  That would be the best recommendation, I think.  Your trip, by bus, should be around 25 minutes or so.  You will want to allow any potential wait time for transportation so I suggest that you plan to be at the bus stop an hour to an hour and a half ahead of your desired arrival time.  It's better to be early than late, right?

Feel free to write back with any other questions.  We are always happy to help.

Until then, I wish you a truly magical vacation.
