We plan to rent a wheelchair for my father who cannot walk or stand for very long because of heart issues. Should we get a Guest Assistance Card for him , or would just his age (75) and the wheelchair give him handicap consideration for rides?

Definitely request the Guest Assistance Card for him. There are a large number of guests that use wheelchairs and ECVs (Electronically Controlled Vehicles), and cast members are not going to assume anything about him, based on age. So having the card will verify a need for them, and they can assist accordingly.

By the way, Disney does more to assist guests with special needs than any other destination I know of, so I am sure that all of you, your father included, will have a great time!

    Have a magical vacation!
