Hiya Kathleen!
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question about
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! I have to say, this spooktacular event is easily one of my family’s favorite nights of the year. We love getting dressed up, grabbing our treat bags, and heading out for a night full of Halloween magic at Magic Kingdom.
Let’s jump right into it! You are absolutely right that you’ll receive a trick-or-treat bag when you arrive, but that’s just the beginning. There are treat stations all around the park, and you can visit them as many times as you’d like. And trust me, the Cast Members are generous; they like to hand out big scoops of candy, not just a piece or two. I highly recommend bringing a larger bag so that when your small treat bag fills up, you have a place to put all that candy.
Beyond the candy, there is so much exclusive entertainment that makes the night feel extra magical. One of my favorites is Disney’s
Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, hosted by Jack Skellington. Watching
Cinderella Castle come to life with projections and fireworks is just so much fun, and you can only see it during the party.
Over on the castle stage, you’ll also find three of my favorites, the Sanderson Sisters in the
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. It’s funny, a little spooky, and just so much fun. And another treat: you’ll also find dance parties throughout the park, where kids and adults can join in the fun with characters. My daughters got to dance with Stitch last year and still talk about it. It was such a fun and unexpected highlight.
And you cannot miss the
Boo-to-You Parade. Seeing all your favorite characters dressed up for Halloween is so special. Be sure to grab a spot early. About 15 minutes before the parade, you might even catch the Headless Horseman riding through to start the parade. It’s my youngest’s favorite part, and she loves to rewatch that video over and over again. You’ll also come across characters in their Halloween costumes and even some rare sightings you might not normally find in the parks.
There are also lots of themed snacks and
treats available for purchase during the party. I always like to check the
Disney Parks Blog ahead of time to see what fun and festive goodies will be available that time of year.
Kathleen, I hope this helps you get even more excited for your Mickey’s Not So Scary night at Disney! If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again.
See you real soon,
Christina
