I Plan to purchase a Magic Key Pass. I would like to know how the Magic Key anniversary date is determined, is it date of purchase or date of first visit to the Park?

    Welcome to planDisney, Sylvia!

Purchasing a Magic Key pass means you get to enjoy the splendor of the Disneyland Resort all year long! So I'm really glad you are looking into getting one. The anniversary date of your Magic Key is determined by the first time you activate it at the parks, not the date of purchase. You have one year from the date you purchase your Magic Key to use/activate it for the first time.

Keep in mind that a theme park reservation is required for any day you wish to visit the parks with your Magic Key. Magic Key holders can hold between two and six theme park reservations at a time depending on the type of Magic Key they select. Magic Key holders can make theme park reservations up to 90 days in advance. Be sure to view any applicable blockout days for your pass before making plans to visit the parks.

Another thing to be aware of is that California residents may purchase a Magic Key pass using a payment plan. You will pay a $179 down payment and then make monthly payments. Or you can choose to pay in-full at the time of purchase.

I hope this helps! Have a wonderful time visiting the parks all year long with your new Magic Key!
