    Plan land and sea trip

    Ahoy, Rachel!

Planning a Disney holiday that combines both the magic of Walt Disney World Resort and the enchantment of a Disney Cruise is the ultimate dream come true. Each offers its own unique kind of pixie dust, so deciding which to experience first is all part of the fun. Personally, I think tackling the theme parks before setting sail is the way to go. After all those thrilling rides and miles of walking, the relaxed pace of a Disney cruise is the perfect way to unwind.

To help you plan your Land and Sea adventure, here is a step-by-step guide to make it as smooth as a Dole Whip on a summer day.

    Start with Your Cruise Dates:
First things first, pick your cruise. Since those dates are set in stone, it is easier to plan your time at Walt Disney World around them. For example, if you are thinking of sailing in February 2026, the Disney Wish has a four-night journey setting sail on Monday, February 23. A four-night cruise is a great choice to soak in all the magic at sea without feeling rushed.

Plan Your Time at Walt Disney World:
Once your cruise is sorted, decide how many days you want to spend at the parks. In my ideal land and sea holiday, I would recommend at least four full days, one for each park. That would mean arriving at Walt Disney World on February 18 for five nights of fun before heading to Port Canaveral for the cruise. This way, you get the best of both worlds, thrills on land and chills at sea.

    Choose Your Disney Resort:
Next, it is time to pick where you will stay based on your budget and your family’s style. While 2026 resort reservations have not been released just yet, they should be coming soon. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for updates. As for my family’s favorites:

For a Value Resort, we cannot get enough of Pop Century. The Skyliner access makes getting around a breeze.

For a Moderate Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter wins our hearts with its charming theme and cozy size.

And if you are going for the Deluxe experience, it is hard to beat Disney’s Beach Club for its amazing pool and easy stroll to EPCOT.

    Tickets, Dining, and Extra Magic:
After your resort is booked, it is time to think about tickets and maybe even a dining plan. If planning every little detail is not quite your cup of tea, you might want to consider working with an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. They can help coordinate everything at no extra cost to you. A quick internet search should lead you to some great options.

Of course, if you have any more questions, you have got a friend in planDisney. We are always here to help make your holiday as magical as possible.

Wishing you pixie-dusted planning and a truly unforgettable adventure!
