Hello, Wanda,
Congratulations on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! When it comes to trip planning, there are a lot of options with resorts, so it may help to first know that there are essentially three different resorts:
value,
moderate, and
deluxe. The value resorts are the most budget-friendly, and these rooms will be the smallest with fewer amenities. However, they still have all of the Disney perks and magic. The deluxe resorts are the most costly; and they have the largest rooms, offer more dining options, are located closest to the parks, and have more amenities. The moderate resorts fall in the middle of the two.
I'd encourage you to look over the costs of the different resorts (and the
Special Offers page) to see which best fits your budget then narrow down the resort to which theming you like best for your family. You may also find it helpful to do an internet search for the article
Value, Moderate, Deluxe, Villa: What’s the Difference Between Disney World Resort Categories? by Erin Foster to read further details about the differences. Of course, we can happily answer specific questions about any of them, too!
As for which parks to visit, I'd visit all four of them! There is truly something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age, at each park.
As you continue planning your trip, please let us know how we can help if you have more questions. Wishing you many unforgettable moments with your first trip to Walt Disney World! -
