Disney family making smores by a campfire

Hello, I plan to take my kids to the Chip n' Dale Singalong at Ft. Wilderness on March 16, 2023. Can you please tell me the timing of this experience? I booked a Carriage Ride for 8:30PM and worry it is too tight for time. Thanks!

Hi there Natalie and a warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!

I hope you're getting excited for your upcoming trip, dreaming of the warmer weather that awaits as you spend March Break in Florida. We love spending some of our evenings relaxing at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, taking advantage of complimentary experiences and enjoying the wide variety of dining options across the property. But for many Canadians there's something so distinctly magical, yet familiar about attending Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long that just brings to mind memories of family camping trips and summer nights at the cottage.

I had a chat with a Cast Member at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, who provided me with a few breadcrumbs of knowledge that may help you plan your evening:

    • The event typically begins around sundown and is subject to change throughout the year depending on when the sun sets; summertime tends to be a time of year when it will be scheduled slightly later in the evening but you can expect it to begin between 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EST during your visit.
    • Chip and Dale like to make their appearance early and may spend time especially with younger guests as they interact and play games with them before the campfires are lit.
    • There is usually about 20 - 30 minutes allotted for folks to roast their own marshmallows, or purchase S'mores Kits from The Chuck Wagon nearby. This is directly followed by the Sing-A-Long portion of the event, which lasts for about half an hour prior to our dear furry friends making their departure back into the woods as guests are invited to settle in before the movie begins.

With an estimated timeline of just over an hour for the entire duration of the event, this may be cutting it very close for your Horse Drawn Excursion Carriage ride! Not only are you required to check in 15 minutes prior to your reservation time at Crockett's Tavern, I would recommend that you take extra time to depart early as it can be a good walk from the Meadow Trading Post area towards Pioneer Hall.

I recommend checking the availability for your ride to see whether you can modify it to fit around the event timing, especially considering that the ride itself is typically around 25 minutes in length.  On the bright side, since Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long is a complimentary activity that takes place frequently, you might also want to consider choosing this for another evening during your stay!

I hope that this was helpful for your planning, and please don't hesitate to come back to planDisney any time to ask me for any more tips and tricks - I absolutely love helping my fellow Canadians on their journeys!

And like I always say on any woodland wanderings: beware the molten-lava centre of a deceptively perfect marshmallow. Hope your ride in the Wilderness isn't too Wild!
