Hiya Cindy,
Welcome to planDisney! Congratulations on your baby news! I recently had a baby, and Disney was a huge part of my pregnancy announcement. It is true what they say, “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
Doing a gender reveal at Walt Disney World Resort will undoubtedly be Tigger-rific! I know that you want to have an intimate gender reveal prior to Theme Park opening hours, so I would suggest looking into reserving a room at a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel. Currently, resort Guests (and Guests of select other hotels) can gain entry to the Theme Parks before non-resort Guests as part of
Early Theme Park Entry. I know it may not be the privacy you envisioned, but the crowds were significantly smaller during that time. During my last visit, I could enjoy a practically empty Main Street, U.S.A., with an unobstructed view of the EARidescent
Cinderella’s Castle. There were also tons of other areas where you could have a little privacy to share your special news with your group, perhaps with some embroidered Mickey ears! Want more of a unique experience? Then reach out to a Cast Member at
Disney’s Meeting and Events. They can help you coordinate a magical event that is tailored to your dreams.
One other idea that is sweet as honey is to reserve a
Capture Your Moment photo session. I did one for my maternity photos and absolutely loved the experience. It was so special to have this special moment captured in a private photo session. I can just see the images now; you could purchase a Mickey and Minnie plush and then give the Disney PhotoPass photographer the gender on a piece of paper. They could then place the plush that reveals the gender in front of you and take a picture of your reactions. It would be a magical way to make the moment special even if you are in the park with many other Guests.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the answer you were looking for, but I hope I’ve gotten your mind working on ideas to make your special moment unforgettable.
Congratulations again to you and your entire family!
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
