If I plan to go to Disneyland for my sons 3rd birthday and get him a magic key pass that same day, would he be able to get in without a reservation?

Hi Lindsey! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for sending us your question.

Celebrating a birthday at The Happiest Place on Earth makes for an even happier celebration! If you would like to purchase a Magic Key Pass for your little Mouseketeer, I recommend doing this before the date you plan to visit. All guests, ages three and older, must have a Theme Park Reservation to enter Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, whether they have a Theme Park Ticket or a Magic Key Pass. If you prefer to purchase the Magic Key Pass that day, you could upgrade his Theme Park Ticket to a Magic Key Pass before you leave the theme park that day. The availability of Magic Key Passes is not guaranteed, so it would be up to you if you want to take that chance. I suggest that you first check the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and Magic Key Calendar for the date and theme park you want to visit. If there is availability for both types of entry, you could make the choice that you feel is best for your situation.

During your visit, be sure to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your little guy! The buttons can be found inside at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park.

If you have more questions before you arrive, please visit us again at planDisney. We would love to help!

    Wishing you magic,
    Lisa
