Plan to go to Disney 13th Dec-28th/29th Dec 2013 with hubby and son (10yrs) We can't afford to stay in a luxury resort for whole duration so was think of staying budget for 1 wk and luxury for 1week. What 2 resorts would you recommend?

    Hi Chantal!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

You are visiting Walt Disney World Resort at a wonderful time of year - the Christmas decorations are amazing, so beautiful, and are everywhere you look!

I would suggest you consider staying at the newest resort that has only just opened - Disney's Art of Animation.  Based around four of the most-loved Disney movies, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, Cars, and The Little Mermaid, the theming carries right through the resort, the pool, and into the guest rooms.  It is always very exciting to stay in a new resort, and your family will feel like you are walking straight into the movies!

My favourite Deluxe resort is Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  As a family, we love staying there.  You will feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere (where in reality you are an eight-minute boat ride from the Magic Kingdom park).  The gardens and pool area are stunning, as is the lobby, and the views over Bay Lake.  You can take the boat to the other Magic Kingdom resort hotels, and a bus to everywhere else.

If transportation is your main concern, Disney's Yacht & Beach Club is also a lovely place to stay, with Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios a short boat-ride, or walk, away.  The Magic Kingdom resorts - Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Resort and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, are all on the Magic Kingdom monorail link, as well as being served by boats and buses.

If you have any other questions that would help you make your decision, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
