Congratulations on your little Mousekteer, Alexandra! I'm happy to help you with some ways to celebrate the happy occasion!
Before we get into ideas for your gender reveal, let's talk photos! You'll definitely want to capture this milestone event in your family, so I recommend scheduling a Capture Your Moment photo session. You'll get 20 minutes with one of the Disney PhotoPass photographers in the
Magic Kindom Park or
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. That gives you amazing photos of your big moment while you just enjoy the surprise.
Now, here are some ideas I've seen for gender reveals at the Walt Disney World Resort:
- Choose two outfits and enlist the help of a Cast Member to purchase the one for the gender of your baby. Have them box it up so you can't see it, and then open the box in front of Cinderella Castle.
- Similar to above, but choose a Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse plush to open.
- Visit The Chapeau in the Magic Kingdom and have them embroider an ear hat with "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl!" If you've chosen your baby's name, you could include that as well!
- Have a friend or family member (or even an available Cast Member!) purchase a balloon for you in pink or blue, then put it in a bag. Again, open in front of Cinderella Castle.
- Pick up a free Celebration Button at Guest Relations or one of the retail shops and take it to
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe to add an artful "It's a Boy!" or "It's a Girl" message for just a few dollars. Have them bag it up and then open it - well, you know!
-
Disney Floral & Gifts can deliver a custom gift basket to your Resort hotel. Ask a friend to call them and let them know which basket to bring and schedule a time for delivery. You'd have to take your own photos for this one, but you'd have some nice mementos.
- Contact
Disney Meetings & Events to plan something extra special and unique. The sky is the limit!
