We plan on flying to Orlando the day before our cruise leaves. Do you have advice as to weather it is better to stay at a Disney World resort for one night and have the Magic Express take you to the port the next morning or stay at a hotel at the port? Thx

    Welcome aboard, Sherri -

Flying your family from California all the way to Orlando, and then going on the Disney Cruise -  just won you the coolest parent award, didn't it? You're well on your way to making those magical memories that your family will be talking about for a long time.

Staying on Disney property is still a preference for me and my family. Once you arrive at the airport, the magic begins as you take advantage of the complimentary Disney Magical Express. This will take you and your family to your Disney resort for your pre-cruise night. For the following morning (embarkation day), you can arrange to have Disney Cruise Ground Transportation pick you up, to take you to Port Canaveral. There is an additional fee of $35 per person each way. It's the most convenient way of traveling from the Disney Resorts to the Port. Your luggage will also be handled for you, so that it gets picked up at your Disney Hotel (you'll get special tags), and then it will be delivered straight to your stateroom on the same afternoon. The DCL motor coach will pick  you up in the morning by your hotel entrance, and you get dropped off right at the Port check in entrance. If you are traveling with children, this also gears them up for their Disney voyage - I love seeing their excitement as they board the 'Mickey bus'. Everyone gets to watch the Disney Cruise prep videos on board too.

After your cruise, you can also arrange to have DCL Ground Transportation take you back to the Airport, or back to the Disney Resort. You can add this to your cruise reservation easily by calling your travel agent or the DCL Travel Desk at 1-800-951-3532.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need any help with preparing for your upcoming magical voyage!

    Bon voyage!
