Hi Arthur,
The
Wishes and IllumiNations fireworks cruises are special treats. Besides a unique view of the fireworks, each offers a pre-show tour of the waterways near Magic Kingdom or Epcot narrated by the captain. Unfortunately, I do not believe there are any vessels in the pontoon fleet that will accommodate a group of your size.
That doesn't mean your family can't enjoy the experience, however. I've done both cruises with a large group of friends, spread over three pontoons. For the Wishes cruise, we anchored near each other in Seven Seas Lagoon to watch the fireworks. The boats weren't close enough for us to talk to each other while we waited, though.
On the IllumiNations cruise, our three pontoons anchored next to each other under the bridge at the entry to World Showcase Lagoon. The boats were so close we that could have boat-to-boat conversations and snap pictures of each other before the sky lit up in front of us.
With the Wishes cruise, you get a bit more Disney history and trivia; with IllumiNations, you get a closer view of the fireworks and a better chance to experience it together, even on separate boats. Both include light snacks and soft drinks. I'd recommend them both.
Another new option that would accommodate your whole family, which I haven't experienced: The
Ferrytale Wishes Fireworks Cruise. Guests board a ferryboat at the Transportation and Ticket Center for a cruise that features desserts and drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic.
I hope that helps get you started on your plans, Arthur. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Don't hesitate to visit again if you have other questions.
Enjoy your family vacation!
Wilma
