I want to plan a family get away for my 70th birthday - January - in 2023. I want to do it during the Anniversary celebration. My grown children will be joining me. Can you give me some tips for this?

Hello, Cathy and welcome to planDisney!

Cathy, commemorating your milestone birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to ensure that your birthday is filled with Magic. And... what could be more Magical than celebrating with your family?

Now, I'm glad you're hEAR planning your trip in advance so let's dive in. If it fits in your plans and budget, I encourage you to stay in the Magic at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. With complimentary transportation to and from the parks, my family and I love the ease of staying on property. If your plan is to purchase a vacation package (your hotel stay and theme park tickets bundled together), I would begin by browsing through the list of resorts HERE

Cathy, at this time 2023 packages haven't yet been released, but if you take this time to research, you'll be ready to book when the time comes. If you don't yet have a My Disney Experience account, you'll want to create a free account HERE. Whether you purchase a vacation package or stand alone tickets, you'll use this account to manage all of your plans including dining reservations (which can be made 60 days in advance of your arrival).

Cathy, traveling with a larger group can bring up a few additional questions, such as "how do we book multiple hotel rooms?" When searching for availability online, you'll want to enter the number of guests per room (not the total number of guests). If you are the lead planning guest and would like to make all of the arrangements, you'll need to call in to book multiple rooms under one name. However, if others in your family will be taking part in the planning, the lead guest in each room can book their vacation package online (and then link your reservations together later).

Cathy, while you patiently wait for 2023 packages (and tickets) to be released, make sure to bookmark the Disney Parks Blog where Magical announcements are posted. We hEAR at planDisney would be honored to help as you continue planning, so please come on back with any additional questions.

Wishing you a Magical trip and memorable birthday.
