I plan on going to Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival on May 6. What do I need to know?

    Welcome to planDisney, Rodger!

You've made a good decision to experience EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. This is many people's favorite EPCOT festival. As human beings, something in our souls comes alive when we're surrounded by the beauty of nature. So prepared to feel alive!

First of all: make sure that you have a valid Theme Park ticket and make Theme Park reservations! That's the most important step.

Ok, let's begin with the stunning topiary displays. You're going to be in awe of all these wonderful pieces of art, Rodger. Here's a photo challenge: see how many beloved Disney character sculptures you can find around the Theme Park. My personal favorite is Sorcerer Mickey Mouse!

You should also venture around EPCOT and discover the gorgeous gardens in bloom. I would particularly commend visiting each of the pavilions around World Showcase. You'll find dazzling flowerbeds and exotic gardens that are specific to the various countries that are represented. I always love heading to the UK pavilion for a reminder of home.

At some point, you'll want to refuel. As Winnie the Pooh once said, "What could be more important than a little something to eat?" There are a variety of impressive outdoor kitchens, each offering a specialty menu of creative cuisine and libations. You can't go wrong with anything you find on a menu. However, I'm a big fan of Mexican cuisine. So I can't help but recommend the Taco Vampiro, which is barbacoa beef in a corn tortilla with crispy grilled Monterey Jack cheese, salsa ranchers, and esquites. Wash it down with a Hypnotic Margarita and you're all set. In the words of Abula from Encanto, "The magic is strong — and so are the drinks!"

If you like a good rock concert, then make sure you catch the jazzy rock band, Blood, Sweat & Tears, at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure Pavilion. Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to party!

You should also make sure that you experience some of the fantastic attractions at EPCOT. Take a scurry through Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant in Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Take a magical flight on Soarin' Around the World. Go for an exhilarating, high-octane spin on Test Track. Embark on a voyage to Arendelle on Frozen Ever After. Talk about the BEST. DAY. EVER.

Finish the evening by enjoying the Beacon of Magic display on Spaceship Earth before watching the nighttime spectacular, Harmonious. I personally like the view from the Italy and Japan pavilions.

That sounds like a pretty magical day! I hope you have an enchanting time, Rodger. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
