I want to plan my Disneyland trip around the end of January 2026. Do you know what would be closed for a refurbishments then?

Greetings, Shawna, and welcome to planDisney! January is a fantastic time to visit the Disneyland Resort. I'm happy to help you prepare for a magical trip.

Shawna, you'll find information about which attractions are closed for refurbishment on the Hours & Events Calendar. It is updated on a rolling basis to reflect information as far as six weeks out. That means you should be able to look up details for the end of January around mid-December. Information is subject to change, so I suggest checking periodically as your trip approaches.

We do know that holiday experiences at the Disneyland Resort are scheduled through January 7, 2026. Haunted Mansion and "it's a small world" will likely be unavailable for a period of time after that as they transform out of their seasonal overlays. However, we won't know about the timing of their reopening until it's reflected in the Hours & Events Calendar, or an announcement is made on either the Disneyland Instagram account or the Disney Parks Blog

As the Disneyland Resort transitions out of the holiday season, we might start to see certain aspects of the 70th Anniversary Celebration return. Keep an eye on the entertainment schedule to see if the Paint the Night parade and Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular will return in time for your trip (they will temporarily pause during the holiday season).

Shawna, make sure you have the Disneyland mobile app downloaded and ready to use during your visit. I use it often when I'm in the parks – you can check wait times for various attractions, browse menus, place mobile food orders, and use the map to find your way around. You can also use the Disney Genie service in the app to create an itinerary based on the attractions, entertainment, and dining experiences that interest you. If you're interested in any table-service restaurants or dining events, remember to start checking for reservations around 60 days in advance.

I hope this information has sprinkled some pixie dust on your plans, Shawna! If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
