Hello Plan Disney, I plan to register for the 70th Anniversary Tour, but was wondering if there are any other private tours that I can enjoy at Disneyland during our trip mid-December. Thanks, Michele

Greetings, Michele, and welcome to planDisney! Guided tours are a great addition to any Disneyland Resort trip – I'm glad they're on your radar. Let's make sure you are set and ready for your December trip!

Michele, there are two guided park tours offered in December. The first is A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour at Disneyland Resort, and the second is The Disneyland Resort Home for the Holidays Guided Tour. Both of these walking tours last about two hours and come with special perks.

The anniversary tour includes a ride on the Disneyland Railroad, a cruise on the Mark Twain Riverboat, Lightning Lane entry for a select attraction, and a special keepsake. It's nostalgic, full of enchanting stories, and a great way to see Disneyland from a different perspective.

The holiday tour will warm your heart with stories of beloved holiday traditions at the park, Lightning Lane access to Haunted Mansion Holiday, special viewing for A Christmas Fantasy Parade, and more. This tour would be the perfect way to immerse yourself in the spirit of the season.

For the ultimate Disneyland Resort experience, you can look into booking a Disneyland VIP Tour. An expert guide will spend between seven and ten hours with your party of up to ten Guests. The tour features expedited access to all attractions, reserved viewing for parades and nighttime spectaculars, a special pin, and more. Please note that this experience has a higher price point than the other tours.

Michele, you'll be visiting Disneyland during the most magical time of the year, the holiday season! The parks feel extra merry with decorations throughout. You'll also find a towering tree, twinkling lights, festive entertainment, seasonal overlays of popular attractions, and lots of tasty new foods to try. My favorite part of the holiday season at the Disneyland Resort, however, is the "Believe...In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular, particularly when "snow" falls from above. It's such a special moment, and I hope you get to experience it during your visit.

I have some more ideas to make your visit extra special:

    • Consider Character Dining for one of your meals. You can't beat an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet combined with tableside visits from Disney Characters!
    • The Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a great way to fit more fun into your day. It grants access to the Lightning Lane entrances at a number of attractions, leading to shorter wait times.
    • Keep an eye out for the seasonal Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog. There, you'll find all the special food, treats, and drinks that will be at the parks during the holidays. Don't miss the Festive Food Marketplace at California Adventure.

Michele, I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the Disneyland Resort in December! If you have any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help at planDisney!

    Wishing you magic,
