I plan on going to Disney world with my 11 year old son and my 4 year old daughter. I know that there will be some rides that my son will want to go on with me that my daughter will not. Any suggestions, as it is that I will be taking the children alone.

    Hi Melissa!

I applaud you for planning to bring your family to Walt Disney World because you will make so many incredible memories together as a family! There is not any in park services that would watch your younger child while you take your older child on rides, but I think that I can give you some tips and strategies for this situation. There are lots of family rides and shows in Walt Disney World that you can all enjoy as a group without having to split up. I would encourage you to major on those type of rides and attractions. If there is a ride that your son wants to ride, then you can let him go on it (if you feel comfortable with this) while you and the younger child wait for them at the exit of the ride. The rider swap will probably not be an option because you do not have another adult with you to watch your younger child. Always make sure to explain your situation to the Cast Members and sometimes they will even let you wait in the line as a family and then take the "chicken exit" to wait at the exit of the ride or attraction for your son that is riding.

There also is always the option of finding another single person or extended family member to come with you to help you out as well. I'm sure that they will have a blast too! The bottom line is that I have found Walt Disney World to be the absolute best place to take your children for vacation especially if you are a single parent!

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
