Ahoy there, Lesley!
Welcome back to planDisney! A European
adventure on the Disney Dream sounds like an incredible way to explore the world. There’s just something about sailing from port to port that feels like stepping into a grand adventure story, almost like joining the crew in Treasure Planet and charting a course for new horizons.
Let’s start with the not-so-magical news. Unfortunately, the
Beverage Tasting Seminars on European sailings are currently limited to Guests age 21 and older. That includes experiences like wine tastings, mixology classes, and whiskey seminars. Policies can always evolve, so I do recommend checking your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app when your booking window opens, and you can always stop by Guest Services once onboard to confirm the latest details.
Now for the good news. There is typically a way for your 18- and 20-year-olds to consume and purchase alcohol onboard. Since you will be traveling with them, you’re already off to a great start. Disney allows Guests ages 18 to 20 to drink alcohol with parental consent on most European itineraries.
Here’s how it works:
• A parent or guardian must be traveling with the 18- to 20-year-old Guests.
• You will need to complete a
Beverage Consent Form, which is usually available during check-in at the cruise terminal.
• If you miss it at the terminal, you can stop by Guest Services once onboard to complete it.
• A parent or guardian must be present when the alcohol is purchased and consumed.
Once that form is in place, your young adults can enjoy alcoholic beverages in settings like dinner or lounges, as long as those conditions are met.
I hope this helps you feel prepared and know what to expect for your sailing. It sounds like you have an amazing trip ahead, and with a little planning, everyone in your crew will be able to enjoy their vacation in a way that fits them best.
Sea ya real soon as springtime magic carries us from one adventure to the next,
Dustin
